state和country的区别

　　侧重点不同。country指国家时，侧重疆土或人口，又作“乡下”讲。state指国家时，侧重政体、政府，也可指组成国家的“州”。在英语里，country是一个不精准的词语。它更多是一个地域性的概念，可以指历史上的“国家”或者在渊源上曾有相对独立历史的地区。country既有“国家”之意；但“农村”也是这个词汇，其实country原始含义本是指农村广大地区。就像古汉语中“国”“野”之分也演变为了现代汉语中“国”的意义，只不过英语是“野”演变过来而已。在英国，有时候会说Great Britain一个country；但是，特别是很多苏格兰人会说苏格兰也是一个country。
